The three suspects have been arrested the Beitbridge border post for possession of narcotics.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said the narcotics weighed 10.25kg and were valued at R2 050 000, Review Online reported.
The suspects were entering the country travelling in a company truck on Tuesday.
“Members of the South African Police Service and the South African Revenue Services were busy with normal routines at the border post when the truck was directed to the cargo scanner. It was at this point that the scanner detected the drugs hidden under the bed compartment of the truck.”
Mojapelo confirmed the substance tested positive for heroin.
The suspects, aged 32, 36 and 41-years-old respectively, were arrested immediately, and will face charges relating to possession and/or dealing in illegal drugs.
The suspects will appear in the Musina Magistrates’ Court soon.
