Pretoria woman arrested for assaulting police officer

A 29-year-old woman has been arrested after she allegedly assaulted a police officer in Pretoria.

Sunnyside police spokesperson Captain Daniel Mavimbela said police were responding to a noise pollution complaint when the woman became violent on Sunday, Rekord East reported.

Mavimbela said when police arrived at her place to ask her to be considerate of her neighbours, she became violent and punched an officer in the face.

“She was immediately arrested.”

Mavimbela said the police made 44 more arrests in the Sunnyside area for various offences including shoplifting, drunken driving, possession of dagga and malicious damage to property at the weekend.

The arrested were expected in the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court soon.
