A Clapham High School teacher in Pretoria collapsed and died in front of learners on Tuesday morning.
Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi tweeted that he had heard of the news and was rushing to the scene, Rekord Moot reported.
A teacher at the school told Rekord: “We cannot discuss anything at this stage. We are still coming to terms with what has just happened.”
Gauteng education spokesperson Steve Mabona said the department would comment once it had more information.
“We received information that the teacher collapsed and died in full view of learners. We are on our way there to find out what transpired. We will comment further once we have more information,” he said.
