Oscar tells court about gun

Murder-accused paralympian Oscar Pistorius was questioned in the High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday about claims that he had fired a shot through the sunroof of a car.

Barry Roux, SC, for Pistorius, told the court after the tea break that he would first deal with counts two, three and four before dealing with count one, murder.

Pistorius told the court how he Darren Fresco and Samantha Taylor left the Vaal River and were stopped by police officers on September 30, 2012.

Both Fresco and Taylor have testified that he shot out the sunroof intentionally.

The athlete is on trial for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, who was shot through the locked toilet door of his Pretoria home on February 14 last year.

He says he had mistaken her for an intruder. He has pleaded not guilty and in his plea statement denied he had argued with her shortly before the shooting.

He also faces two charges related to contravening the Firearms Control Act, to which he has denied guilt.
