The effects of Trump's tariffs include rising prices, job losses and the decline of retirement funds.

As the Donald Trump wrecking ball continues demolishing diplomatic trade and relationships and triggering a meltdown on the stock markets, it is interesting to see Americans taking to the streets in their tens of thousands to protest against him.

While most of those at anti-Trump rallies would probably be Democrats, there are even Republicans who voted for him having some buyer’s remorse as the implications of his insane tariff regime become apparent.

Those effects include rising prices, job losses and the decline of retirement funds because of the market slide.

A few people did recall that Trump once said, some years ago – allegedly in jest – to “Make America great again” you first had to destroy many of the institutions and policies supposedly holding the country back.

There are, so far, no signs of any phoenix arising from the rubble of the Trump wasteland, though… and many are worried about how much more destabilisation lies ahead.

His supporters say they are prepared from some “pain” from his measures, but one wonders how they will feel if that hurt morphs into life-threatening agony.

Americans and the rest of the world are wholly unprepared for this level of anarchy.
