As the Easter Bunny gets ready to spread joy before the holiday this weekend, US President Donald Trump is handing out his own version of cheer.
After announcing high tariffs for many countries, Trump last week decided to implement a 90-day hold on them. He said all the countries which did not impose retaliatory tariffs on the US would be charged a flat 10% levy for the next few weeks.
There was no glimmer of hope for China, though.
“Based on the lack of respect that China has shown to the world’s markets, I am hereby raising the tariff charged to China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately,” Trump said.
