Baroka FC hoping for more magic
The team has four wins and five draws behind their name – in sharp contrast to last season.

Baroka FC will be desperate to show their fairy-tale run in the Absa Premiership is no fluke when they take the field in the Telkom Knockout quarterfinals this evening.
Coach Kgoloko Thobejane’s Baroka, who finished 15th last season, are top of the Premiership standings with 17 points.
In 10 starts in the league this season, they have lost just once – a 1-0 defeat last month to struggling Wits who, in a twist of fate, they face in the Telkom Knockout quarterfinals at Bidvest Stadium tonight.
Baroka have four wins and five draws behind their name – in sharp contrast to last season when, just five months ago, they were scrapping it out in the Premiership playoffs to avoid relegation.
Now, after the first third of the season, they are the team to beat. Wits, on the other hand, are stumbling second from bottom in the standings after five losses and only registering two wins from nine matches.
Last season they only lost six times on their way to the title. The year before, they lost just seven times on their way to a second-place finish. It all makes for an intriguing night of soccer.
