Onyango set to undergo knee surgery in France

Maritzburg United and Kenya defender Brian Mandela Onyango is set to undergo surgery on his right knee in France on Wednesday, the Football Kenya Federation has announced.

Onyango sustained a meniscus tear in training last week which ruled him out of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Onyango is set to jet into Cairo on Thursday and join the rest of the Harambee Stars squad as they prepare for their first Afcon match against Algeria on Sunday.

After the Algeria clash, Kenya will face neighbours Tanzania on June 27 before closing their group stage matches against Senegal on July 1.
