Residents from the Westcliff area are rummaging through rubble in search of four children and two adults, who are reportedly trapped under a collapsed house in the vicinity of Westcliff Secondary School, Rising Sun Chatsworth reports.
It is believed that one person was killed.
Two people have been transported to hospital after the bank behind the school collapsed onto the servants quarters at about 9pm, last night.
The search was called off last night due to the storm.
Residents have gathered to try to find the children – aged 11, eight, seven, and five – and an adult male and female, who are still trapped in the rummage.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that a mother is deceased while her child still cannot be located due to the flooding in the area.
Various emergency services remain on standby due to the damage caused by the inclement weather.
