Offensive Oscar Pistorius image pulled off Amazon website

Online shopping giant Amazon has removed an image depicting Oscar Pistorius in a Halloween costume from its website, Pretoria East Rekord reports.
The image left a bad taste in people’s mouths, judging by social media users’ reactions.
In the sale image, a man can be seen dressed like an athlete in apparent South African colours, with make-belief prosthetic legs and the words “Blade Gunner” emblazoned across the chest of the vest.
Amazon removed the advert from its website at the weekend following negative comments on social media.

Pistorius first came to the attention of the world in 2004 at the Summer Paralympics in Athens. Throughout his career, he was nicknamed “The Blade Runner” for running on his prosthetic blades.
It is not clear yet if the Pistorius family, would take action against Amazon for the image.

Pistorius shot and killed his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on February 14, 2013. He is serving six years in prison for murder.
