An Indonesia woman has been swallowed whole by a giant reticulated python while gardening.
Her sons went searching for Wa Tib, 54, after she went missing on the island of Muna on Thursday evening.
With the help of villagers, her sons found her fully clothed body inside the 7-metre snake.
She had been swallowed head first.
The woman’s belongings, including her sandals and a torch, were found about 20 metres from the bloated python.
A police spokesman said: “Residents were suspicious the snake swallowed the victim. The snake’s belly was cut open, and the body of the victim was found inside.”
Reticulated pythons are common in Indonesia, but it is very unusual for them to eat humans. Usually they feed on animals such as monkeys and pigs.
