The police are hunting the second women following the first’s arrest in the north-western region of Geita.
Police chief for Tanzania’s Mwanza region, Ahmed Msangi, said it was just a matter of time before the second “suspect” was arrested.
“The plan is to eliminate the entire chain of people involved or supporting homosexuality for the betterment of the generations,” added Msangi.
A country-wide crackdown has been launched against people accused of promoting homosexuality and the East African country’s authorities have threatened to “deregister” NGOs suspected of supporting gays.
