A 27-year-old man was arrested last week allegedly for raping and beheading a four-year-old girl as revenge for being rejected by her mother in India. The accused allegedly severed the victim’s head with a kitchen knife, dumped her torso behind his house and peeled off the skin of her face – to ensure no one could identify her – before dumping her skull.
The bloodied knife was later found at his house.
The victim’s mother had reportedly warned the accused against entering her house after asking to have a sexual relationship with her. She reportedly refused and threatened to tell her husband, who was the accused’s friend.
A police source told Times of India: “The girl had visited the man’s house. Thereafter, he took her back to her mother, but the mother got annoyed and scolded him publicly. Hence, he decided to seek revenge. When the woman was busy inside her house, he gagged the girl, took her to his house and bundled her away under the kitchen slab. He then went to sleep in the afternoon.”
After asking her neighbour to help her search for her daughter, the mother asked her husband’s friend if he had seen her, which he denied.
They then lodged a missing person report and an investigation was opened.
The accused reportedly confessed to the crime during an interrogation, and said he “got rid of her”, fearing that she would tell her parents what he had done to her.
