Welcomed rains bring relief and damage in Tzaneen

Heavy thunderstorms rocked the Tzaneen area in the Limpopo province throughout Wednesday night, reports the Letaba Herald.
Tzaneen and surrounding areas have had over 100mm of rain since it started to pour on Wednesday evening.
Measurements vary from area to area, and range from 60mm to 140mm.
In the Haenertsburg/Magoebaskloof area, it rained between 130-150mm, according to some residents there.

Weather predictions indicate the possibility of further light showers for the remainder of the week, according to the South African Weather Service.
Sometimes it rains too hard though, as some locals unfortunately experienced.
The tropical thunderstorm, that many refer to, hit the Pusela, Politisi and Wheelbarow area and parts of Tzaneen, with harsh winds causing damage to buildings, structures and trees.
