The Queensburgh Metro Police Crime Prevention Team recently arrested two alleged drug dealers and seized 460 bags of hat heroin, 81 pieces rock cocaine, a bag of dagga and an undisclosed amount of cash, Highway Mail reports.
Police believe the drugs are linked to crimes committed by street children in the Pinetown CBD.
The intelligence-driven operation in the local patrol area was conducted under the command of Inspector Selwyn Phillips.

According to corporate communications officer Warrant Officer Radhika Marimuthu, the sale of these drugs was linked to the spate of robberies by street children in the neighbouring Pinetown CBD.
“Many street kids who are dependent on drugs turn to committing crime to feed their habits,” she said.
Senior Superintendent Venu Moodley, head of Queensburgh Metro, hailed the arrests and the seizure of the drugs as a benchmark success.
“The seizure of drugs and the arrests will thwart the plans of the criminals,” said Malvern SAPS station commander Lt-Col Valarine Reddy.
The Queensburgh Metro Police can be reached on 031 311 6780 and the Malvern SAPS on 031 489 9619.
