“It is the most gruesome of scenes I have ever experienced.”
These are the words of police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo after visiting the murder scene where Tanya Wiers, 45, was attacked and killed on Tuesday afternoon in Logan Street, Eduan Park, Polokwane, the Bosveld Review reports.
“This is the most gruesome thing I’ve ever seen. I can’t think that there will ever be anything worse. It was evident that the victim put up the fight of her life. There was so much blood, and her defensive wounds tell their own horrifying story,” he said.

Wiers’ bloody body was discovered by her son on returning home from school. She was lying in one of the rooms naked with multiple stab wounds to the neck and under the chin. Both of her eyes had been removed with a sharp object.
A 25-year-old suspect was arrested the same day after police followed up on clues left at the scene of the crime. Some of the stolen properties that were allegedly taken during the attack were found in his possession.
Mojapelo added police investigations would continue, and more arrests were expected.
“The scene was something from a horror film,” said a family friend.
