A man was shot four times in both legs after being hijacked in Glen Anil, KwaZulu-Natal, on Friday, Northglen News reports.
The hijackers, however, then left the man in Bester, in KwaMashu.
Warrant Officer Leon Audh, spokesperson for Greenwood Park police, said: “A witness to the crime said that the victim was approached by three unknown men at a stop street. The assailants produced firearms and forced their way into the vehicle and drove away with the victim still inside.”

The victim was taken to eThekwini Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Another Durban North hijacking also led to a high-speed chase and shooting on the M25 Highway.
In the incident, two armed suspects hijacked a woman driver and fled. Armed reaction officers spotted the car on Chris Hani Road and followed suit, leading to a chase on to the M25 Kwamashu Highway.
One of the suspects produced a firearm, and a shootout ensued. The two suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled, escaping into nearby bushes.
