Man banned from PS4 live stream after broadcasting video of wife naked

An American man has been banned from a video platform after he streamed images via his Playstation 4 showing him undressing his wife.

The PS4 comes with a feature called ‘Playroom’ that allows users to broadcast live video via, a service original designed to be a platform for real-time coverage of electronic sports. However, PS4 gamers have been using the service for other purposes. According to a report in Game Revolution, one couple held a raffle for their PS3 while others played with firearms.

However the most controversial has to be one user, known as Darckobra, who used Twitch to broadcast a video stream of himself and his wife drinking heavily on their sofa. After he passes out, he then proceeds to take off her clothes, eventually leaving her completely naked on the couch.

The user has since been banned from the service.

In response to this incident, Playstation makers Sony has released the following statement:

The PlayStation 4 system is designed to help gamers share their game play through popular social channels. It is unfortunate that some individuals may abuse this feature and share inappropriate content. Our social media partners are experienced in monitoring and disabling users who violate their terms of service, and we are working in full cooperation with them to minimise these instances. PS4 users may block sub accounts from accessing social media feeds and viewing live broadcasted content on the PS4 system by setting the sub account’s User Generated Media parental control to restrict.
