The chipmaker says the salty-sweet combo is tailor-made for young women, who apparently can’t get enough of the stuff, according to Businessinsider.com.
The product’s debut will be a trial run as it rolls out in Target stores across the United States, but the product could become a permanent if shoppers love them.
Jennifer Saenz, Lay’s senior director of marketing, noted in an e-mail: “the increasing popularity of chocolate-covered snacks among our target audience, millennial women. … They are looking for those more indulgent, savory/sweet combinations.”
As for other chocolate-covered chip combinations? Well Saenz says “the possibilities could be endless.”
