The old cinema and skate park is being converted into a space for studio shooting.
The majority of Brightwater Commons’ old shop space will now be occupied by Urban Brew Studios, Randburg Sun reports.
Visitors to the centre can now expect to see big stars from reality shows to youth programmes such as YOTV, Vodacom Millionaires, Live AMP and How Do I Look? South Africa.
With large entertainment space that has been unoccupied for years, this is a fitting environment for a production company to step into.
The old Woolworths space is now occupied by Urban Brew’s main office.
Sönke Moolman-Pautz, leasing director for the new project, said: “This is all part of the process of utilising existing shop space to incorporate office space.
“We welcome their more than 25 years in the entertainment industry. They are a well-respected South African television production company that has been in existence since 1995, and we are happy to have them as one of our major tenants.”
Urban Brew Studios will offer new facilities including office space for their staff, 10 television production studios, dedicated audio post-production space, and music compilation facilities.
