Giyani schoolteacher found dead in bushes

Police believe the man was involved in a carjacking.

Police in Giyani have launched a manhunt for suspects involved in the killing of a high school teacher in the Giyani area, the Bosveld Review reports.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, a Mbangezika high school teacher in the Shikukwani village in Giyani, was found dead in the bushes with school examination papers lying next to his body.

He was found in the Mashavele village.

“Preliminary police investigations at the crime scene found an empty cartridge adjacent to the deceased’s body, but his motor vehicle was missing.”

Ngoepe says the motive behind this incident is still not clear at this stage, but carjacking cannot be ruled out.

No arrests have been made, as the suspects are unknown.

Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects may contact Captain Richard Boshomane at 079 894 5501; the crime stop number 0860010111; the crime line SMS 32211 or the nearest police station.
