Thieves dressed as cops hold up jewellery store in KZN

The thieves reportedly got away with several valuable items.


The Ballito Junction regional mall in KwaZulu-Natal has again been targeted after staff and customers at Cherry Jewellers were held up by armed robbers last night, North Coast Courier reports

According to sources, it is believed that three men, who were dressed in police uniform, entered the store early in the evening.

There were reportedly three staff members and two customers, with their children, at the store when the hold-up took place.

The fake cops got away with several valuable items.

“I can confirm that an armed robbery took place, but exact details are still to be confirmed,” said Umhlali SAPS spokesperson captain Vinny Pillay.
