At 7.45pm, the driver of an Uber Black stopped at a shop on the corner of 4th Avenue and 5th streets to ask for directions as he was struggling to get back to Rosebank.

Matumba said: “He was then approached by three … males and was threatened with a firearm. He was forced to get into the backseat of his car.”

The suspects allegedly drove away with the victim still inside the vehicle.

Matumba continued: “They covered his face so that he could not see where they were going. They then dropped him off at Southgate Shopping Centre and drove away with his car, including his two cellphones.”

No injuries were reported.
