DA secretary in City of Joburg region rejoins the ANC

The DA Region A secretary has gone back to the ANC.

DA Region A secretary Leshaka Mosana crossed floors back to the ANC on 21 January during a Henry Ntsele general branch meeting in Kaalfontein, Midrand Reporter reports.

The meeting took place at Drake Koka Primary School. “The journey to get back Mosana started with him interacting with me after the 8 January statement that took place in East London. He said after listening to the ANC president’s statement, he thinks the ANC is back on the right track with pro-poor and working class policies that he thinks he should be part of,” said secretary for the ANC Greater Midrand Zone 15, Lekwane Phasha.

Mosana jumped ship in 2014 moving from the ANC to the DA serving as secretary for Ward 111 subsequently, secretary of region A. He has previously served under Cosas, Sasco and the ANC at branch level.

“I served in the ANC until I realised that my political ethics were compromised under the leadership of President Jacob Zuma,” he said.

However, he said carefully following deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa, he does not doubt his rollout strategy to sustain radical socioeconomic strategy.

Chairperson for the DA in region A Madeleine Hicklin revealed that Mosana was about to face disciplinary procedures when he jumped ship. “I don’t want to dwell on that, it’s a personal matter. Yes, I am aware that he has deflected, but I have no comment on that.”
