“It is reported the accused was furious that her daughter hadn’t cleaned the house and took a broomstick and began to assault the girl with it,” explained Captain George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS, Germiston City News reports.

A neighbour saw the incident and called the police, who responded immediately.

“The woman was arrested and taken to the Germiston Police Station where she was charged with child abuse,” said Raphulu.

The police are still investigating the incident and the suspect will appear in the Germiston Magistrates’ Court soon.
