Major drug bust in Pretoria

A man has been found in possession of dagga worth over R100k.


A man has been arrested for possession of dagga in the Pretoria city centre, the metro police announced, Pretoria East Rekord reports.

Spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said the 40-year-old man was arrested as the metro police (TMPD) intensified their festive season operations.

Mahamba said the police were on patrol on Wednesday when they noticed a suspicious man driving a Ford Figo.

“They stopped the car for a search,” said Mahamba.

“[They] found bags of dagga with an estimated street value of R108 600.”

The man is expected to appear in court soon.

“Well done, officers.”

Mahamba said TMPD would continue the battle against drugs and crime.
