Services are also applicable to students who missed the application window period.


Matriculants who failed to secure a place at higher education institutions for next year will get another chance to apply, the government has said.

The department of higher education and training has made available a placement online service, central applications clearing house (Cach) for young people who need to make late further education applications.

Cach was established in 2013 in response to the large number of applicants seeking entry to the post school education and training (Pset) after universities had closed their application window.

The Cach application window will be open from 5 January to 28 February.

More than 18 300 prospective students have used the service in the five years.

Cach is for university or technical and vocational education and training college placements.
