Mbalula: Grace Mugabe to appear in court today
Zimbabwe's first lady handed herself over to the police after an alleged altercation with a 20-year-old model in Sandton earlier this week.
Minister of Police Fikile Mbalula has confirmed that Zimbabwe’s first lady, Grace Mugabe, has handed herself over to the police after an alleged altercation with a 20-year-old model in Sandton earlier this week.
eNCA reporter Nickolaus Bauer asked Mbalula if Mugabe had been placed under arrest, and Mbalula responded: “Not under arrest, because she cooperated and handed herself over to the police. That is cooperation, more than any necessity to go and arrest a person.”

Grace Mugabe is set to appear in Wynberg Magistrates’ Court at 1pm today.
Jacaranda News filmed more of Mbalula’s comments:
“The law is about ensuring that everybody’s protected. And in terms of foreign citizens, they must understand their responsibility, especially those who hold a diplomatic passport. You cannot just go here and go to Zimbabwe and beat up people there and the matter will disappear.”
