A security guard stationed at Marburg in KwaZulu-Natal has been arrested for rape and possession of pornographic images on his cellphone.
Police spokesperson Captain Gerald Mfeka said the guard picked up a girl, 13, from Tin Town at the Gamalakhe traffic lights last Sunday, the South Coast Herald reported.
He offered to give her a lift home but instead took her to a service station in Marburg.
“He bought her a chocolate, then took her to his place of employment where he sexually assaulted and later raped her,” added Mfeka.
The 40-year-old security guard then dropped the teenager at a shopping complex at Gamalakhe and instructed her to go home.

Warrant Officer Thulani Ngwabe was assigned to the case and arrested the security guard the same day.
Police examined his cellphone and recovered a number of pornographic images.
His cellphone was confiscated and he appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court on Monday this week.
The case was postponed to February 20 for a formal bail application.
