Man stabbed in Moreleta Park

A man was attacked with a knife in an apparent street mugging in Moreleta Park, east of Pretoria, on Thursday.

This happened as he was walking along in De Villebois Mareuil Drive at about 1.20pm, said ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak, Rekord East reported.

He said paramedics found the man on the side of the road with stab wounds to his neck and shoulder.

The man told them he had been walking along the road when a vehicle pulled up and an unknown number of men stabbed him several times.

ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said the man had been treated on the scene before being taken to hospital.

More details were not immediately available.

Police were investigating.
