An Ethiopian shopkeeper died after being shot in the shoulder during an armed attack at his store in Emjindi Trust in Mpumalanga on Saturday night.
According to Sakkie Dednam from Hi-Tech Security Barberton, the two attackers made off with about R4 000 in cash, Lowvelder reported.
A few hours later, James Munro was severely assaulted during a farm attack on Ncandusi Farm a few kilometres outside Barberton.
He and two other people were tied up and threatened with a gun by four attackers. They fled the scene.
Four people were killed in farm attacks across the country over the weekend, according to TLU SA.
A farmer, Anton Smuts, 64, was killed on his farm near Kinross, in Mpumalanga. Lodge owner Arno Niehaus, 53, was strangled near Maanhaarrand in North West.
Piet van Zyl, 69, and his wife Tilla, 66, were killed on their farm in the Immerpan area on Saturday night.
