Man breaks leg in Durban crash

A man has broken his leg after crashing through a fence on Queen Nandi Drive in Durban on Thursday.

According to Kyle van Reenen, the 27-years-old man lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the fence, Northglen News reported.

It is believed he works in a car repair shop.

“The worker was driving the BMW in the yard when he lost control and crashed through the fence. It is believed the accelerator jammed, causing the car to crash through the fence. He broke his leg near the ankle in the crash. Netcare 911 and Marshall Security were on scene to help the worker,” said.

According to Chris Botha, Netcare 911 spokesperson, the man is in a serious condition.

“Reports from the incident indicate that the driver was trying to pull the vehicle into the workshops when he drove through the fence.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man had sustained serious injuries. Medics stabilised the man at the scene before he was transported to a nearby hospital,” he said.
