Many in Mzansi were surprised on Sunday morning to see the hashtag #HappyBirthdayJuliusMalema at the top of the trends list for South African Twitter.
This was followed by people mostly following the cricket ODI, with the Proteas facing Sri Lanka at the Wanderers.
The EFF leader turns 38 today, and he has gone to the Entokozweni Creche In Orange Farm, Gauteng, to celebrate the occasion with children.
One popular clip about him today was from a video of him singing “Kiss the Boer”, since he has been prohibited from singing “Shoot the Boer”, which is considered hate speech.
The EFF is remarkably well mobilised on Twitter, with Malema the most followed politician in the country and the EFF the most followed political party.
