Phakamani Mahlambi says one of the major reasons he opted to come back home from a spell in Egypt with Al Ahly was to win trophies and to get back to Bafana Bafana.

The forward signed for the Pretoria outfit on the last day of the transfer window back in August 2018.
Mahlambi spent only one season at the Egyptian giants and was reported to have requested for a transfer after struggling for game time.
“Coming home to South Africa was just for me to start afresh, and be able to do the things I couldn’t do. And most importantly, looking forward to winning trophies and get back to the senior national team,” said Mahlambi, who is currently with the National Under-23 in camp for the back to back Olympic qualifier matches against Angola.
