A bus has been set alight at Delft in Cape Town as a result of the taxi strike that started this morning.
According to Athi Mtongana, an eNCA reporter who has been posting videos and pictures of the strike on Twitter, the N2 outbound has been closed at R300 after a bus was set alight.
Police in Delft say delivery trucks are targets for protesters, and have asked truck and bus drivers to not go near the area.
Rubber bullets were fired at a group of people throwing stones at police and buses. Borcherds Quarry, near Cape Town International Airport, is one of the affected areas.
On the N1 at Joostenbergvlakte, a burning barricade blocked the road, but that was cleared.
The N7 between Plattekloof and Potsdam roads was also closed.
