Ward councillor Kingsley Wakelin said there was such an incident in the Amberfield area recently.
Wakelin said the area where the incident happened is overgrown with weeds.
He reportedly asked the developer of the property as well as the estate manager to cut it down.
“It is unfortunate that we live in a world where we constantly have to look over our shoulders, but we need to start practising safety when we drive at night,” said Kingsley.
He said people need to be more aware of their surroundings.
Police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto warned that if motorists felt threatened, they must put on their hazards immediately and drive to the nearest police station.
