Library up in flames, manhunt launched

An unknown group of suspects torched a school library at Akani High School last night in Limpopo, Letaba Herald reports.

The motive behind this incident is still unknown, but the possibility of it being related to the ongoing protest action by learners and the residents has not been ruled out.

Various school items, including books and computers, were scorched.

The estimated value of the damage caused is about R100 000.

The library was torched last night by an unknown group of suspects.

The situation in the area is still volatile, as most of the roads are still blocked off by residents with stones and branches.

Members of Public Order Police Unit (POP) have been deployed in the area to stabilise the situation.

The suspects have not yet been found, and no arrests have been made.
