The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro is a lightweight laptop with enough power under the hood to get you through the day. Not only is it gorgeous; it’s also incredibly fast thanks to the AMD Ryzen 7 5800 CPU.
Here’s what you need to know.
The lightweight laptop – really lightweight at only 1.35 kilogrammes – comes packed in a sleek dark grey or light silver aluminium case with a sturdy hinge and thin bezels.
It features a sturdy build and sleek casing which allows you to easily open the laptop with one hand thanks to the raised camera notch. The notch also adds to the charm.
The laptop has a bigger touchpad than you would expect while still providing a lot of space without looking or feeling cluttered, and the keyboard is a dream to type on.
The Yoga Slim 7 Pro’s 14-inch display comes equipped with “the visual brilliance of OLED” according to Lenovo”, which provides up to 2880 x 1800 resolution with a 91% screen-to-body ratio.
It also supports Dolby Vision™ along with a 100% sRGB colour spectrum, thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce MX450 graphics card.
I’m told the laptop has brightness measured at 390 nits, which lands comfortably in the average spot for these devices and outshines the 254 nits of the Yoga 7i.
On the left side, you’ll find two multifunctional USB Type-C ports – to transfer data or charge the laptop. Sadly, no SD card slot.
The power button, a USB Type-A port and an audio jack can be found on the right side. In addition, the Wi-Fi chip supports 802.11 WiFi6 and Bluetooth 5.1.
Here’s where it gets interesting. This non-gaming laptop is equipped with the latest Zen 2 tech and eight ultrafast cores, along with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800h 3.2GHz CPU, and 16 GB of RAM.
That means the laptop is fast enough to handle advanced multi-tasking and video editing while providing an immersive entertainment experience. Really, what more could you hope for?
The 4Cell battery survived almost 11 hours of web surfing on one charge; and a little under 13 hours with a dimmed screen.
It will last long enough to get you through a day’s work.
The Slim 7 Pro was an absolute dream to review. I was impressed by the amount of power packed into such a tiny and compact laptop.
I was also able to play most games on medium settings, including Warframe and Witcher 3.
