Kodwa, Mthembu vote for Cyril Ramaphosa at #ANC54

Mthembu, who has previously stated his support for the deputy president, also used Twitter on Monday to reiterate his stance.

African National Congress spokesperson Zizi Kodwa used Twitter on Sunday to express support for Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa to lead the ANC.

Ramaphosa is contesting for the top party job against Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, the former chairperson of the African Union Commission.

Kodwa said that Ramaphosa would “inspire hope” for the party.

“Am casting my vote for comrade Ramaphosa for ANC president, whatever happens I trust he will restore confidence and inspire hope. It is early hours but it’s worth waiting,” Kodwa tweeted.

ANC chief whip Jackson Mthembu, who has previously stated his support for Ramaphosa, also used twitter on Monday to reiterate his stance.

“Voted for Ramaphosa and other five incorruptible leaders [at the ANC] conference. My vote is to save the ANC and my country. We must,” Mthembu said.

“The ANC 54th conference must restore the integrity of our movement. It must also restore the confidence of our people in the ANC through a capable leadership. I am confident that the ANC conference will start the process to save our movement from state capture corruption. Yes it must!”
