Kelly Khumalo dragged into Babes/Mampintsha drama by cyberbullies

Social media users say Mampintsha needs Kelly Khumalo in his life.

As the Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha domestic violence story kicked into high gear this week, the Twitter-verse exploded with some users suggesting that Mampintsha (real name Bongekile Simelane) should date Kelly Khumalo.

However, the Twitterati matchmaking interventions were not well-meaning and were instead fuelled by how the men in Khumalo’s life seem to always meet a gloomy end.

From music producer Prosper whose car crash put him a wheelchair, to musician Jub-Jub spending years in prison for vehicular manslaughter, and Pirates goalkeeper Senzo getting shot and killed, Khumalo is often cast in a less than favourable light when it comes to the men who’ve dated her.

“Ladies if he is Mampitsharing u make sure u kelly khumalo him before he Oscar Pistoriea you,” wrote @MpumaM, while @Black_JusticeSA said: “Can Mampintsha date Kelly Khumalo I wanna see something.”

The brief shift in focus from Babes and Mampintsha meant that Khumalo was trending for a minute on social media – which just goes to show, even bad publicity is good publicity. Right? Wrong!

Clearly not pleased with the attack, fans of Khumalo immediately sprung into action and likened it to cyberbullying.

On his Twitter page, @skosanabv wrote: “You guys who are busy on ‘Kelly Khumalo’ what u’re doing is not funny and it’s absolutely not acceptable.”

“The way it’s so acceptable to cyber Bully Kelly Khumalo on Twitter… it’s like people seek relevance by using her name,” wrote @TboozeSA in Khumalo’s defence.
