Hot action at Red Star

Topping proceedings will be two races in the 2019 Bridgestone Car Club Series. Front contenders will include Paulo Loureiro (Combined BMW F30 335i Turbo), Stefano Martinelli (Dalucon Insulation BMW E90 Turbo), Rick Loureiro (Combined BMW F30 Turbo), Andreas Meier (BMW E36 Satcar), Jorge Estrala (Jadecon BMW E36 328i Turbo) and Jan Eversteyn (Bavaria 0% BMW E46 M3). With a total of 27 entries, the racing should be tight and spectacular throughout.

Heading up the historic categories’ programme will be two races for Sports and GT cars. Top contenders must include Porsche RSR models in the hands of Rui Campos (Me, Myself & I), Brian Algar, Fred Konig, Stefan Snyders (Spear Management) and Stefan Puschavez (MI Equipment), plus Kola de Klerk (Nissan 300 ZX).

The races for Universal Healthcare Pre-1980 Saloon Cars should see drivers like Sophos Pantazis (Datsun 240Z), Rene Janse van Rensburg (Ford Escort), Peter Jenkins (Ford Escort), Andre Ten Napel (TNMC VW Scirocco), Johann Smith (SPS Mazda Capella), Stuart Konig (VW Scirocco), Alan Green (Ford Escort) and Jannie van Rooyen (VW Scirocco) in the mix.

Two heats for Pre-1966 Sports Legend and Litt le Giant cars should see contenders like Mark du Toit (Daytona Ford), Colin Ellison (Ford Thunderbolt), Vic Campher (Volvo 122S), Francesco Lombardi (Alfa Giulia Sprint), Ishmael Baloyi (GSM Dart), Stephen Britz (MGB), Robbie Frank (Lotus 23B) and Chad ten Doeschate (Alfa Romeo Spyder) fighting for trophies.

Two Investchem Formula Ford Kent races will accommodate drivers like Duncan Vos (Equiry Zoo Swift ), David Jermy (Expensive Habit Van Diemen), Steve Venter (Gulf SA Swift), Matthys Strydom (www. payfair.io Taylon) and Allen Meyer (Van Diemen).

A combined race for Motul Clubmans, Modifi ed Production Cars and Supersaloons will offer action from drivers like) Keagan Pottas (Honda CRX), Marius Jacobs (AAA Recovery Tigra), Karel Stols (Mazda RX7), Ismael Peck (Mercedes SLK), Bjorn Gebert (FAS Alfa GTV6), Dirk Lawrence (LDM Tuning Honda Ballade), Ralph Kernes (Ritchard Scrap Renault Clio) and Ian Ehlers (FEC Polo).

A total of 22 cars will tackle two Sports Car races, with top contenders to include Fritz Kleynhans (Comenius Ligier), Pieter Zeelie (Speads), Klippies Krige (Lotus 7), Ian Smith (Shelby CanAm), James Forbes (Ipcoweb ADR3), Norman Witt (Signkor Lotus 7) and eight Nash MVW3 models, fighting their own battle in the midfield.

The handicap based Charlies Superspar Pursuit races will feature 22 entries, with Rob van Aarle (Ace Auto Ford Escort), Machiel Oberholzer (Aquaperm Mercedes 190E), Michelle Smith (SPS Nissan Skyline), Brad Schafer (Porsche 944), Werner Hartzenberg (Aircooled Wonders Porsche 928) and Rob Clark (Containerforce Citroen GS Club) probable winners.

The day will end with a 60-minute Endurance race, with top contenders to include Stefan Puschavez (MI Equipment Porsche 911R), Stefan Snyders (Spear Porsche 911RS), Gerald Wright (Sports 2000), Mario Rossi (FAS Alfa GTV6) and Steve Venter (Gulf Nash MVW3).
