Three suspects in court after attacking, robbing German couple

The victim and his wife were at the lookout point when one of the suspects attacked him with a stone.


Three suspects are expected to appear in the George Magistrate’s Court today after they allegedly attacked a 54-year-old German tourist with his wife at Dolphin’s Point in Wilderness on New Year’s day.

According to police spokesperson Captian D Gwavu the incident took place at around 19:30pm, George Herald reported.

“The victim and his wife were at the lookout point when the suspect attacked him with a stone. The man was hit several times over the head. The suspect afterwards fled with the couple’s camera.”

The victim’s wife was not injured.

The suspects were caught by police in Wilderness shortly after the incident with the couple’s camera in their possession.

The suspects aged 19, 20 and 32, will face charges of robbery and possession of stolen property.

The victim was discharged from the George Mediclinic on Tuesday.
