Five cannibalism suspects abandon bail application
The five men, accused of murder and conspiracy to murder after being found in possession of human remains, have been denied bail.

The five people accused of murder and conspiracy to murder after being found in possession of human remains have abandoned their bail application, Estcourt News reports.
They appeared in the Estcourt Magistrates’ Court, in KwaZulu-Natal, this morning before Magistrate A Sookraj. With their heads covered with their jackets, the five men made their way from the holding cells shortly before 9.30am.
One of the men wept uncontrollably.

Legal Aid representative T Hadebe told the court the bail application would be abandoned. Their next court appearance will be on September 28 for further investigation.
The five suspects were remanded in custody.
