Diko ditches Luthuli House for Union Buildings as Ramaphosa’s spokesperson

A day after resigning as ANC national communications manager, Khusela Diko has been announced as Cyril Ramaphosa’s spokesperson in the Presidency at the Union Buildings.

Tyrone Seal has been acting as Cyril Ramaphosa spokesperson since the untimely passing of Ronnie Mamoepa. Tyrone’s substantive position is chief director of government communications and information services (GCIS).

“The Presidency is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Khusela Diko as the Spokesperson to President Cyril Ramaphosa with effect from 12 March 2018,” the Presidency said in a media statement this morning.

Diko was a chief director of communications in the Gauteng provincial government before joining Luthuli House, where she served as a communications manager under former spokesperson Zizi Kodwa.

She serves in provincial executive committee (PEC), which is the highest decision-making structure of the ANC in the province.
