Pinetown police have opened at inquest docket after a decomposed body of a homeless man was found hanging from a tree in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal.
According to Andreas Mathios, spokesperson for Blue TV, the body of the homeless man believed to be in his 50s was found recently by a passerby who alerted authorities, Highway Mail reported.
“His bag containing his belongings was found nearby.
“He used a piece of clothing to hang himself, and it’s assumed that his body had been hanging here for the last 10 days.
“We are not sure who his next-of-kin is at this point in time,” said Mathios.
Anyone with information leading up to the incident or details of the next-of-kin is urged to contact the Pinetown SAPS on 031-325-5079.
