Mantashe’s pre-election ‘apartheid party’ conspiracy

African National Congress (ANC) national chairperson Gwede Mantashe has accused Democratic Alliance (DA) leader John Steenhuisen of organising “apartheid parties” to form a group that will remove the ANC from power.

Mantashe made the comments during the OR Tambo Memorial Lecture in Boksburg on Monday.

Thabo Bester: Katlego Bereng’s family lays charges against G4S and health dept

The family of Katlego Bereng, the man whose body was found charred in the cell of convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester at the Mangaung Correctional Centre (MCC), has laid criminal charges against security company G4S and the health department with the help of ActionSA.

Katlego’s family and ActionSA laid the charges at Park Road Police Station in Bloemfontein on Tuesday.

Enyobeni trial postponed due to load shedding

The trial against Enyobeni tavern owners Vuyokazi and Siyakhangela Ndevu has been postponed to 23 May 2023.

The trial began at the East London Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday morning, but proceedings were halted because the recording machines would not be functional during the rolling blackouts.
