Lobby group AfriForum has revealed that there was no foul play in the death of Limpopo farmer Willem Kruger.

Kruger, a 29-year-old farmer from Grobersdal, Limpopo went missing on the evening of a friend’s bachelor party at a lodge near Morgenzon, Mpumalanga on 13 November 2022

Nine days later, his body was found inside his bakkie in the Vaal River.

Willem’s father, Tian, approached AfriForum’s Private Prosecutions Unit for help in February to investigate the circumstances surrounding his son’s death.

As convicted murderer and rapist Thabo Bester languishes in the Kgosi Mampuru II correctional facility in Pretoria, reports have revealed that he and his girlfriend Dr Nandipha Magudumana enjoyed luxury getaways at a hotel in Bloemfontein just weeks before his escape.

Bester and Magudumana arrived back in South Africa on Thursday.

The Facebook rapist faked his own death with Magudumana’s help to facilitate the prison escape from the Mangaung Correctional Centre (MCC) in the Free State.

According to a report by The Sunday Times, the couple stayed at the Tredenham Boutique Hotel, just 25km away from the MCC in March and again in April using one of Bester’s aliases, TK Nkwana.

‘Jacques Nienaber an outstanding man, great coach,’ says Leinster boss

Leinster head coach Leo Cullen has called Springbok boss Jacques Nienaber “an outstanding man and great coach” following the announcement that Nienaber will join the Irish rugby club after this year’s World Cup.

The news was announced on Saturday afternoon around the same time Cullen’s Leinster took on the Lions in a URC match at Ellis Park.

Nienaber, who has been Bok boss since 2020, will replace Stuart Lancaster at Leinster after this year’s World Cup in France.

Lionel Richie, Katy Perry to play King Charles’ coronation show

Take That, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Andrea Bocelli will be among those performing at a concert to mark King Charles III’s coronation, the BBC said on Friday.

A televised Coronation Concert is being held in the grounds of Windsor Castle, west of London, on May 7 – the day after Charles is officially crowned king.

BBC chief content officer Charlotte Moore said the coronation was a “once-in-a-generation occasion” and called the concert line-up “world class”.
