Dad starts YouTube channel to offer tips to kids growing up without fathers

This channel offers 'dadvice' for everyday tasks.

The reality of fatherlessness is faced by millions of children across the world. South Africa is one of the countries with the largest number of households without a father, with over 60% of children under 18 living without a father.

To help with this, Rob Kenney started a Youtube Channel to offer everyday tips to kids that need it. This includes shaving, changing a tire, riding a bike, etc.

Rob’s father walked out of him and the family at age 14, so he knows first hand the pain of living without a dad.

In an interview with Shattered Magazine, Rob told of how his dad won custody of him and his seven siblings after divorcing his mom. Even so, Rob said “he got custody of us, but he didn’t really want us”.

Rob was then forced to take care of his siblings, and now that he is a dad himself, it important for him to start this channel. He named it “Dad, how do I…” and it offers practical life skills that dads would usually teach their children.

Now, the channel has over a million subscribers and Rob continues to be the dad that every kid needs.

Kudos to him.
