Covid-19 latest stats: 2281 new infection, and 58 more deaths
The latest statistics continue to show a slight decrease in daily Covid-19 infections across South Africa.

The rate of Covid infections in South Africa continues to decrease, with a total of 2281 new infections reported on Sunday, compared to 3 286 on Saturday.
The Department of Health reported that the total number of infections in the country as of Sunday stood at 2 882 630, with 58 new deaths also being reported. The latest deaths bring the total death toll since the start of the pandemic to 86 174 deaths.
The recovery rate stands at 94,8%, with the total number of people who have recovered from the virus at 2 732 363.

A total of 1 599 2374 vaccine doses had been administered.
The past week saw cases increase at an average of 3 731 per day, with an average of 40 670 daily tests being done.
