ANC Parly caucus instructed to remove Zuma tomorrow

ANC treasurer general Paul Mashatile told the media in Parliament a short while ago that the ANC has decided not to wait for President Jacob Zuma’s response on his recall.

The party will instead be going ahead with a motion of no confidence to remove Zuma tomorrow.

The Citizen reported this morning how Mashatile had been dispatched to Parliament by the ruling party to give ANC caucus, chaired by Chief Whip Jackson Mthembu, direction on how to handle the Zuma recall matter.

Earlier this morning, the EFF informed the public it had withdrawn its motion in Parliament. Mthembu said this was immaterial to their plans as they will simply use Parliament rules to amend that motion.

“We spoke them and they refused,” Mthembu said.

Mashatile emphasised that the primary reason for his trip was to inform ANC MPs that the ANC has decided to remove Zuma as president with or without him responding to their demands.

This is a developing story, more details will follow.
